I'm not sure what this is, whether it's a memorial to someone or a religious tribute, etc.
This picture was taken in a garden tucked away behind a shrine/temple in the outskirts of Tokyo (near the Shibamata train station). We were with my mom's two friends from Chiba (east of Tokyo) at the time.
Taken during my trip to Japan with my mom earlier this year, from May 14 - June 1st.
